2014: page one hundred seventy-three

Just a typical Sunday with church, lunch with family at Pelican, relaxing on the couch and playing outside a bit.

Then, in the late afternoon, I saw a blur of someone running up to our door rather quickly and then heard a loud knock on the door. Ryan answered and all I heard was, "we can't find our two year old!" And as quickly as she had appeared, our neighbor was off again. Of course, we put our shoes on and headed out to help look for her. I cannot even imagine.

After gathering a bit more information from her, we split up to help look for her. Apparently, the mom had been in the tub and the dad downstairs watching TV when they realized they couldn't find her. The little girl had come in to her mom and told her that she was tired and that was the last anyone had seen her.

I headed with B up to the top of our road and through some fields. By the time I wandered back, they had found her. Yeah!

Being the level-headed rational person that he is, Ryan suggested that she was still inside probably sleeping somewhere. Although, they had already checked the house yelling the little girl's name with no answer, the mom decided to try again. Thankfully, she found her underneath the master bed sleeping.

The things kids do. Such a scary time!

As B and I were walking around looking for her, we talked about how scary it was and that it's never a good idea to run away from daddy and momma. I cried while we were looking. We prayed for the little girl to be found knowing that Jesus knew where she was and asking that He would show us.

Thankful for a happy ending!
