2014: page two hundred nine

Ryan worked from home today, which was nice. And Petra came to watch B. So, off I was for a few hours to read, do Bible Study, stop by the consignment store, and hit the local fabric store for it's last day (it's closing today).

Once I got home, we moved the TV out from in front of the big picture window and I love it! It needed to be moved anyway so that I can paint the windowsill. I figured we might as well try it in a new spot to see how we like it. Actually, it kind of blocks a bit of the fireplace, but that's ok by me. I love having the window unblocked.

The unblocked window!!!

The three of us headed to church really quickly this evening so that Ryan could get the music stuff ready for worship practice tomorrow night. He played a little bit of some songs on his guitar, but really B just wanted him to play "Let It Go" (of course). So, he did and she sang. :)

  • A trip to Vernal for dog food. Oh, and people food (aka lunch).
  • Ryan had his every other week golf outing with his dad and brothers.
  • B and I watched Cinderella while daddy golfed. Well, part of it. She wasn't really in to it.
  • We went out to say hi to daddy when they were golfing the 7th green. Then B saw Hattie outside and they played until it was bedtime.
A great Sunday.

After eating dinner out, we ended up at the movie theater for B's first movie! What a fun impromptu outing!

She was so excited and even the previews captivated her. :)

Mani/Pedi from Grandma!
They both were pretty excited. :)

Lunch at one of my favs - Texas Roadhouse

Hang out at Grandma and Grandpa's

Pick Ryan up from the airport. Wahoo!

Swing back by mom and dad's so Ryan can
meet Jack. No picture of the two of them,
because Ryan is afraid of newborns. :)

Home late, as in after midnight late.

Happy Friday!

A little time to myself this morning while Grandma and Grandpa watched B. :)

Wal-mart, Beans N Brews, Sprouts, and a visit to a friend who sells Noonday were the places I chose to spend that time. Man, how I wish we had a Sprouts at home! I know, I'm getting old with my wishes of better grocery stores. Ha ha!

And Noonday. This was my first time seeing some of the Noonday products in person and they are amazing! Shopping with a cause. Jewelry shopping nonetheless. :)

When I got back to my mom and dad's B was having a hard time taking a nap. Well, I didn't have any luck getting her to nap either. At a certain point it was too late to keep trying. Perhaps she just didn't need one today.

This evening, we all went over to the Heiser's! I haven't seen any of them in almost 5 years, which is hard to believe! Time certainly flies. I had never met Allison's youngest, Natalie, who is almost 4 and she had never met B. It's so much fun keeping up with and seeing friends that I have known literally my entire life. Great to see Allison and all the Heisers!

Visiting with Missy, playing with Zeke and baby Addy is how we started off our day. B enjoyed baby Addy for a little bit and then decided playing with Zeke was more fun. :)

Good thing her swimsuit was in her bag, so they were able to play in the water for a bit. (Too bad I didn't get any pics because they were having fun!)

After having lunch, the kids enjoyed a dance party. So much fun watching them dance in their own individual styles and Addy had just as much fun as the bigger kids.

Then it was time for B to meet baby Jack! How much fun that since he was born in the summer, there weren't any restrictions on kids coming to the hospital.

I can't even begin to explain how much B adored Jack! She loved him from the instant she saw him and couldn't stop talking about how tiny and sweet he was. :)

I just love these pics of my brother, baby girl, and new nephew!

BABY JACK!

My first time holding Jack!
Today was the day that baby Jack made his arrival via C-section this morning! Yippee! He was born at 7:42 AM weighing 5 lbs. 11 oz. and 19 inches long.

A big thank you to Matt and Dana for watching B, so I could go to the hospital to meet him and hang out for a while! They even took her to the aquarium and from the looks of the pictures, her and Jason had a wonderful time. And, they are both pretty silly. :)

While B was off playing with them, I was at the hospital meeting Jack. Since he was so tiny, he had trouble keeping his blood sugar up. So, soon after I got there, I was helping trying to get him to take a bottle, but poor little guy didn't have the energy with his low blood sugar. They needed to get his blood sugar up, so he would have energy to eat. That means, he had to be taken to the Special Care Nursery one floor up to get an IV. :(

Long story short, after a bit of trouble getting an IV in, within 30 minutes of starting the IV, his blood sugar was well within an acceptable range. Thank you, God!

Since Jack was up in the special nursery, mom, dad, John, Jensen and I went to the cafeteria to grab some lunch. Then I headed to pick B up and then back to mom and dads. But, of course, I stayed and chatted with Dana for a bit before we actually left. :) She is such an amazing friend and person!

Once we got back to my mom and dads, they were already back and had Jensen with them. B and Jensen played so well together for rest of the day and had so much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed watching them play and playing with them!

One of Jensen's favorite spots is Grandpa's shed.
So, that's where they hung out for a bit.

B and Jensen were playing on Grandma
and Grandpa's bed for a while. :)

My momma started not feeling well yesterday and it seemed to be getting worse, so dadda took her to the ER this afternoon. Well, after 5 hours and many tests, the results came back that nothing was wrong, but there was pain. So, pain meds prescribed and she was sent home. :/

I have been waiting for and so excited about this evening for the past few days ever since Kelly set up a girls dinner. Yes! Kelly is in town and I couldn't wait to see her, as well as, some of the other girls that I hadn't seen in a while.

I will admit that I was a little worried that I wasn't going to make it since my parents were going to watch B for me. While I was trying to have perspective, knowing that my momma's well being was the most important thing, I was starting to get bummed (and yes, crying) that it just wasn't going to work out.

Thankfully, my mom was ok and feeling better with the pain meds. Thankfully, my parents made it home just after 6:00 and thankfully, they were still willing to watch B. Sigh of relief for my momma's health. And joy that I got to see my friend and enjoy girl time.

Catching up with friends, chatting, eating, laughing. Such a wonderful evening!

Today:
  • Car show - Briella kept asking for the car show even while we were there. I think she was wanting something to happen like at the Air Show. Ha ha ha. She was kind of disappointed.
  • Just chill
  • Ryan smoke some yummy pork ribs
  • Ryan's parents, Crystal and the girls join us for dinner
During the "just chill" part of my day, I was reading this book:

I haven't read a book just for fun in such a long time and so far I am really enjoying this book. It's about decorating a house in order to make it a home, but what I love most about it is the tagline: "It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful."

Too often I put off decorating because I don't know what I'm doing. Well, this is freeing. Just be me. Decorate how I (and my family) like. Don't worry about if others like it. If it doesn't look right or how I thought it would, then just change it.

Ryan's new guitar!

He spent quite a few hours this morning at Guitar Center deciding which one to buy. He seems to like it. And so does B. :)

Once we got home this evening, we remembered that it was the annual Burnout before the Car Show tomorrow. (Yep, SO redneck!)

More playing with his new guitar at home. He learned "Let It Go" so that he could play and B could sing. :)

J O U R N E Y!!!!

It is finally that day! Seems like we have had these tickets forever (really it's been only six months), just waiting for some summer concert fun.

So, after Ryan's half day of work we all hopped in the truck and headed to the SLC, dropped B off with Grandma and Grandpa, then off to the concert.

Such a fun night with my hubby and some friends!

My hot date!

We even got to see a guy get taken down by the police and arrested about 15 feet from us. Good times.

Someone crashed out hard on the ride out.

Oh, and in other news for the day, the painting of the entryway is COMPLETE! Just have to get some tape down and it will be ready for décor.

After getting a haircut this morning, B and I went with Crystal, her girls, and some of her sisters and their kids to Bottle Hollow for some hot summer day swimming fun.

One word summary of the day: LAUNDRY

That is pretty much all I did all day. I was so far behind and not catching up, so I designated today as laundry day, stayed in sweat pants, and did 9 loads of laundry. And that is all.

A new book that I ordered for B came today and it is absolutely adorable. She loves it and both Ryan and I do, too. Even though it's long, it keeps her attention and she asks for it again. :)

2014: page one hundred ninety-five

Woo-eee, did B have a rough morning! :) I love her, but I was kind of glad that today was the day that Petra comes over to watch her. Ha ha ha! Apparently, once I left, she was a charm and her and Petra had lots of fun. So, it worked out for all of us.

I spent most of the time hanging out at McDonalds with my computer (if we had a real coffee shop in town, that's where I would have been. Since we don't, McDonalds it is. Ha) and a frappe. My time spent there, I worked on B's prayer list that I started the other day and started reading, "Am I Messing Up My Kids..." I think this is going to be an amazing book/Bible study that will speak volumes to my momma heart.

Considering the rough start we had to our day, once I got back and we took Petra home, B went down so, so easily for her nap. Yippee.

That means I finally got to start on the fun, bright yellow accent wall in our entryway! Yes, the other 3 walls and the ceiling are finally finished and now it's time for the fun one! The moment that I put the first stroke of this brighty goodness on the wall I was smiling. Such a happy color!

One coat done, one more to go!

Tonight was Ryan's every other week golf night with his dad and brothers, so B and I watched Little Mermaid together on our bed after he left.
