2014: page one hundred ninety

When Aryka and B woke up, the first thing they wanted to do was put together the big cardboard house that B got for her first birthday. We've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to get it out and play with it and today was just that day.

Once we put it together, we moved it into the dining area where the girls made a whole house area with a back yard, fence, and a tunnel to a bedroom (under the table). So much fun!

At this point, it was time to satisfy some hungry tummies with some coconut flour crepes. Yum! They tasted delicious, although, they weren't that pretty. Oh well. Aryka enjoyed fixing her crepe up with butter, honey, cinnamon, whipped topping, and blueberries on top. It kind of looked like a hot mess when she was finished, but it tasted good. :)

After the no-nap naptime :(, it was time for some treat making. I'm pretty sure Aryka is my food soulmate, so we had fun picking out some treats to make from my favorite cookbook, "Against All Grain." She decided on a lemon curd, chocolate ganache tart, and carmel sauce. Oh, yu-um! Of course, pictures are below (except for the carmel sauce).

The ganache tart. I'm thinking next time, I'll form them into balls and create truffles. :)

Ah yum, lemon curd.
