January 12 Edition of Being Thankful

Today, I am thankful...

for the bright blue sky, sunshine and "warm" temperatures. Not a typical winter around here and I am enjoying it!

for time to rest when I'm tired.

for God's Word and the truth it contains. Really changes my day when I spend time with God in His Word.

for fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Yum. :)

for having all that I need and abundantly more!

January 10 Edition of Being Thankful

Today, I am thankful...

that three years ago today Ryan and I had our first date! How time flies! It was a wonderful first date. Ryan drove out from Roosevelt on that Saturday afternoon, meeting me at the Cheesecake Factory (he already knew that is a favorite of mine) for a late lunch. Seeing as how it was a Saturday and there was a long wait to eat, we wandered around the mall for a little bit. Next on the agenda was a Jazz game (so thankful that sports is one of the things both of us really enjoy). Still had a bit of time before the game, so on our way to catch the train to downtown Ryan asked if we could stop at the Christian Bookstore for a minute as there was a new Bible he wanted. Then to the Trax to catch our ride downtown and to the Jazz game. After the game I dropped Ryan off at his car after we got off the train. We ended up sitting in my car for over an hour just talking and then as he was getting ready to go he gave me the sweetest first kiss ever! That was the first time I'd been asked before I was kissed. :) Sweet memory! So against all the advice you would read about making your first date a short one, we managed to not only get through, but to thoroughly enjoy our first date together at a total of 9 hours! After all, Ryan had driven 2.5 hours to Salt Lake just for our date. Had to make the most of it and we did! I love remembering our first date! 

January 9 Edition of Being Thankful

Today, I am thankful...

for a wonderful birthday and weekend with my hubby who makes me feel so loved and special! You are truly one amazing man Ryan Roberts!

that I am feeling baby Roberts move more and more and it makes me smile each and every time I feel it. Also,that Ryan has been able to feel the movements much more, too! So fun and incredible!

for the "warm" winter we are having so far. It's so nice not to need a heavy duty coat to go outside. Not to mention that I don't have any that fit me anyway. Ha ha ha. Not sure how long this will last, but I'm going to enjoy it as long as it does.

January 6 Edition of Being Thankful

Today, I am thankful...

for another birthday, another year of life, and the excitement of the year to come!

for a wonderful husband who made me feel special today with flowers, dinner, and a new Kindle Fire!!! Thanks Ryan! I love you!

for the many birthday wishes today. Thank you family and friends!

January 5 Edition of Being Thankful

Today, I'm thankful...

that 3 years ago today, Ryan called me for the first time and we talked for 3 HOURS! Knowing what I know now about Ryan that is quite amazing. Ha ha ha. I love him more than I thought possible and am so thankful for that first call (and the days since)!

that Ryan made it home from Colorado last night! Yeah!

January 4 Edition of Being Thankful

Today, I am thankful...

that Ryan is coming home tonight!!! So happy to see him!

that Ryan works for a great company who will be giving him 4 days of comp time for working this weekend even though he is salaried!

for a wonderful, long conversation with one of my dearest friends. Was great talking with you today, Dana!

Today, I am thankful...

for a hard-working husband for supporting his growing family. :) Thanks Ryan! I appreciate all the long hours that you have been putting in (although I'm looking forward to when it slows down a bit) and am glad that you are enjoying your new responsibilities. And congrats on your promotion! I love you!

January 2 Edition of Being Thankful

Today, I am thankful...

that I was able to have lunch with two of my friends here in Roosevelt, Randi and Leora. I don't see them very often since I quit my job at DWS, so it was fun to catch up.

for great in-laws. Ryan's mom stopped by to check on me today since Ryan is out of town. Thanks Kathy!

January 1 Edition of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful...

that today marks the beginning of my third trimester!! Wow, so crazy and exciting at the same time!

that my dad and mom came to visit this weekend to keep me company while Ryan is gone. Love you dadda and momma!

A Year of Thanks

2011 was a wonderful year, full of many good memories. My one regret is that I didn't stop to take the time very often to be thankful. Or it seems lately that I am thankful for the same few things all the time. Don't get me wrong. They are wonderful things for which to be thankful. I just would like to be more thankful for more things. So, in 2012, I will attempt to post something for which I am thankful every day. Realistically, I know that it won't happen every day due to time or other things which may arise (such as the birth of a baby!), but hopefully I can do it often. Also, I can't say that over the course of the year, that there won't be any repeats, but I'll give it my best to be thankful for new and different things.

Back to 2011, though. Here is a short list of things I am thankful for:

• Another year of marriage to my amazing Ryan (2 year anniversary)
• Feeling this wonderful gift of a baby growing and moving in my tummy (It's indescribable!)
• A patient, loving, saving God
• Trips to Colorado and Texas
• Random events - Scottish bagpipes, car show & burnout, demo derby, first rodeo, etc.
• Visit from Tara, Aaron, and Autumn
• Part time job (both that it's part time and I enjoy it)
• U2 concert
• Visits from mom and dad
• Ryan going back to XTO
• Time in the mountains - camping, hiking, hunting, river rafting
• Kenny Chesney concert with the sisters
• First rodeo
• Sporting events - hockey game, Broncos game, Rockies game, Rangers game
• Vegas with the sisters
• Ryan's promotion - he's worked hard for it
• Fun with nieces and nephews
• And finally, time with those I love, both family and friends

 Thankful for 2011 and excited for what is to come in 2012!
